Oscar is a big sleepy cuddle bug who enjoys taking life at a slower pace, but don’t let that fool you, he loves his jumping and hacking be it fast or slow and he can also turn his hand to a nice dressage test… If you’re sure you mean it. Oscar's best friend is Jack, who is a little more on the go, and can frequently be found giving Oscar’s a workout round the paddock!
14.2hh Cob owned by Quest RDA. Magic is a real favourite with many. Magic can come across a little grouchy with people but they quickly realise this is all and act! Magic is a reliable hack and great at dressage. She’s a true allrounder! Sadly due to an injury she’s a little limited by what she can do in the school. Magic loves all other horses, she’s currently paired up with Impression and they make the sweetest pair
13.2hh Fell pony owned by Quest RDA. Diablo has worked out exactly how much (or little) is needed for any activity. Don’t be fooled by his lazy bones, our hacking he’s a different horse completely! He loves a cuddle and lives with his best friend Ben and he’s always impatiently waiting to come in!
12.2hh Cob owned by Quest RDA. Hollie is indisputably the cleverest pony at Laris, anyone who has ridden Hollie can attest to her cheeky personality. She will find all your weaknesses, but never with any malice. She’s a real charmer and a firm favourite, but don’t be fooled you have to learn to ride this one! Hollie turns her hoof to everything and loves what she does, be it looking after the most nervous of riders or galloping off into the distance with the brave!
15.2hh polo pony owned by Betsy Irwin. Impression was gifted to us for one of our RDA Competitive riders Rhys Rawlings. Impression has taken to her new life away from polo like a duck to water, she’s probably the kindest horse at Laris but also possibly one of the cheekiest. Impression will give any jockey her heart and soul, but don’t worry if you upset her she’ll communicate that to your instructor very clearly. It’s hard to have a lesson with Impression where we don’t end up having a giggle.
12.2hh cob owned by Laris Farm. Cashew is a Unicorn, and I won’t hear any different. As with all unicorns she has a kind but cheeky personality, Cashew loves cuddles and kind words, but she’s young so she requires her riders to be clear in their directions. When Cashew isn’t working at Laris she’s out doing her L'Oreal moment at shows with that incredible hair!
14.1hh cob owned by Quest RDA. Tonka would like to know if there’s an opening to be a living statue. Tonka is the sleepiest of our ponies, including in lessons. Tonka loves to go hacking and is the safest horse you’ll ever meet, can move beautifully when you find the button and he loves nothing more than fuss and attention, if you look really closely at his forehead, you’ll find he’s also secretly a unicorn!
15.2hh cob owned by the Busby family. Dolce is an honest gentle soul but she needs a firm hand and a confident instruction or she can feel a little lost. Dolce loves hacking with her friends and cuddling up to everyone. Dolce is only young and learning all her skills, but she’s showing some real promise!
11.2hh Welsh Section A owned by Stable minds. Oasis main job is equine facilitated psychotherapy with stable minds, but between sessions he also works for Laris. Oasis may be small, but he has a huge personality. He is far too important to stand still, but don’t let that fool you because he’s not as energetic as he acts. Oasis is a perfect first pony teaching the rider to be kind, calm but effective!
16.2hh Irish Sports horse owned by Abi Roberts. Tess has been there and got the T-shirt, her CV knows no bounds. Tess is our advanced schoolmaster, she can win a showjumping competition today and teach a novice tomorrow. Tess can act a little grumpy but once you’re on, she’s in work mode. She always looks after her rider, but likes to have fun doing it!
12hh Welsh section A owned by Adeline Williams. Mosley is our resident show off. Mosley doesn’t really work on the school other than to go competing with our RDA team. When he’s not competing for us he’s winning in the show ring with Adeline. Follow our social media to watch their journey.
14hh Connemara pony owned by Louise Bannister. Bun is still quite new to us, so we are learning his personality, he’s calm and quiet but he’s got things to say, and he will tell you if you’re not riding him the way he thinks he deserves.
14.3hh Cob owned by Louise Bannister. Duchess is our youngest horse so only does a few lessons, Duchess is a very clever pony with lots of potential. We can't wait to watch her grow.
